Charlottesville residents have a chance to give some input Tuesday night on the strengths and weaknesses of city government.

The city is taking part in an efficiency study led by the Novak Consulting Group.

A public forum is scheduled to take place at the Carver Recreation Center from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, October 18.

The consulting group will be leading discussions about specific functions inside Charlottesville, which includes everything from public safety to neighborhood planning.

"We want a third party to be looking at us, because sometimes it's hard to take our own internal organizational temperature. And so having someone else come in from the outside and cast an observant an impartial eye is important," said Charlottesville Director of Communications Miriam Dickler.

Another forum will be held at Carver Recreation Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 19.

The city expects to have results from the study by the end of the year.
