Harrisonburg PD Investigating Car Crash Involving a Structure

Harrisonburg, VA – On October 14, 2016 at approximately 4:08 p.m. officers with the Harrisonburg Police Department (HPD) responded to the Bank of the James Shenandoah Valley at 1391 South High Street in Harrisonburg for a traffic crash.

Preliminary investigation has shown that a silver Chevrolet sedan driven by Felix Juan Torres, 36, of Dayton, was traveling northbound on South High Street at a high rate of speed. The vehicle then crossed over the southbound lane, striking the curb, propelling it into the bank and causing extensive structural damage.

Torres was subsequently arrested and transported to Sentara RMH with non-life threatening injuries. He has since been transported to the Rockingham County Jail and charged with driving under the influence, property damage, and driving suspended.
