Virginia Attorney General Mark Herring is focusing his attention on Hillary Clinton's campaign in the key battleground state.

He was in Charlottesville Saturday to show his support.

Herring is a graduate of the University of Virginia. He stopped nearby his old stomping grounds at the Clinton headquarters in downtown Charlottesville to talk with supporters and stress the importance of their work in the last stretch of this campaign.

Herring is no stranger to close races. He won by only 907 votes out of two million in the 2013 election.

Herring compared his race to the 2016 presidential race and discussed the important role of volunteers.

Herring also discussed why he believes Clinton would make a better president, as he denounced Donald Trump's comments toward women in that video released Friday.

“It’s absolutely deplorable and it’s another indication that the avalanche of problems continue to mount for Donald Trump and it’s absolutely inexcusable and its an indication that he continues to denigrate people from all walks of life ... we need a president right now who can bring people together not create division,” Herring said.

Herring says face-to-face interaction between voters and volunteers is the key to winning an election.
