More than 800 people are expected to turn out at the Walk to End Alzheimer's scheduled for Saturday, October 8, in Charlottesville.
Enid Krieger has organized a team, called Andy's Angels in honor of her husband who battled Alzheimer’s.
About 40 to 50 people will walk in his memory.
“You're going to make new friends, you're going to meet people, there's a lot of camaraderie going on. You're going to see strollers and canes and that makes it fun and that whole experience of seeing everyone out there, it just does something to your heart,” Krieger said.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. Saturday at the Albemarle County Office Building parking lot on McIntire Road. The walk begins at 9:15 a.m.
