CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) -
Students from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business took part in one of the area's biggest community service projects.
Nearly 300 volunteers got their hands dirty painting, drilling, and landscaping Saturday. They helped renovate seven homes and two local nonprofit facilities as part of the annual Spring Build Day.
Saturday's projects are part of a 25-year partnership between Darden and the Charlottesville-based Building Goodness Foundation.
"It really makes a lasting impression on students to be able to come back and see homes that they helped improve, they're able to see the difference they made in the community,” Adam Branham, a UVA Darden student, said.
Students say this is an opportunity to step out of the academic world at UVA and explore the community in which they live and study.
