The St. Anne's-Belfield boys basketball team has earned the No. 3 seed in the VISAA Division II state tournament.

The Saints will play host to the winner of Miller and Walsingham Academy on Wednesday.

STAB won the prep league title Saturday beating St. Christopher's 81-73. Future Duke Blue Devil and senior Javin Delaurier scored 25 points and was named the Prep League Player of the Year.

Now the goal is to win the state championship, something that's never been done at St. Anne's-Belfield.

"It'd be an amazing feeling to put our names down in the history books here and be remembered, says Delaurier. "For four years, its been the ultimate goal to win a ring here. Each year we've come up short but now we have one chance to do it, so this is our time. It would be a fairy tale ending. I've had a lot of fun here. I couldn't of asked for a better team to do this with."

"To get a state title would be huge for us, says senior captain Kareem Johnson. "I know we've been thinking about this since day one, since stepping on the court freshman year, me Javin and John and having everybody else come with us, just having people from all other schools, start to come to STAB, just for basketball is a big step for the program."

Senior captain Jalen Harrison says, "We need to just keep playing the game we've been playing recently and that's playing together, playing fast, playing strong around the basket, and just doing everything we can to help each other, and make each other better."
