CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) -

Some handy volunteers are training Tuesday night to help you fix some of your things for free.

Volunteers evaluated and fixed 100 broken, torn, or otherwise unusable items in their first Repair Café. They hope to continue the momentum next Saturday with even more free fix-its ranging from vacuum cleaners, to bikes, to jewelry.

“It really opens up a world of possibilities because there are so many things that you have in your house that you're thinking, ‘oh someday I'm going to get to it, I’m going to glue this back together, replace the cord, I’m going to do this, that.’ But here, you just gather it all up, bring it to us and we fix it,” said Margarita Startseva, Repair Café volunteer.

The Repair Café is Saturday, March 5 at the IX Park Events Hall in Charlottesville from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
