People in Charlottesville don't have to wait for warmer weather to enjoy some fresh eats from a farmer's market.
That's because the FIREFLY restaurant in Belmont has opened an indoor farmer's market during these chilly winter months.
Every Saturday, the restaurant hosts between four and five vendors. Shoppers are treated to gluten free bread, fresh trout, meats, produce and more.
“I really think it makes sense in the winter because no one wants to go to an outdoor farmer's market and shiver in the winter, so having an indoor space is really the best way to do it. And in Charlottesville they're still going to build a new space, it's going to take a couple of years. And we're happy to provide the space for that,” FIREFLY owner Melissa Meece said.
The market goes from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. every Saturday. Meece says it's best to get there early.
