Naturalists Holding Art Show in Charlottesville

Posted: Updated:

The Rivanna Master Naturalists (RMN) group is bringing the tiniest details of the great outdoors to an indoor art display.

CitySpace on Charlottesville's Downtown Mall is hosting the group's first gallery with about 90 pieces of art.

Members of the group created the paintings, photographs, and stained glass as a way to share their experience of nature with others.

“We realized we had a lot of artists in the group and decided to put on a show where we could show our love of nature and show how we seek to capture that through our art,” said RMN member Emily Luebke.

The Treasures of the Piedmont as Seen Through the Eyes of Master Naturalists gallery opening runs from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, January 8.

The art will be on display during CitySpace hours through January 28.

Some of the members are donating the sale of their pieces to support the group's education, citizen science, and stewardship mission.
