CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) -

Aromas Cafe FC defeated Aegean Hawks FC from Washington D.C. 3-1 in their Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup second qualifying match Sunday at Charlottesville High School.

Former CHS star Jake Van Yahres scored two goals for Aromas FC.

"You only get one career in soccer, and a lot of times you're not able to play at a high level with friends that you've been with for a while," says Van Yahres.  I'm 27, and this is something I probably won't get to do again, so it's a one-time thing. Two goals, I get the attention, but everyone is doing something that deserves it as well."

Van Yahres played two seasons of college soccer at American and then transferred to VCU, where he played two season for the Rams.

Aromas Cafe FC will play its next matched in the 2016 U.S. Open Cup in January or February.
