Supporters Rally at Albemarle Co. Planned Parenthood - NBC29 WVIR Charlottesville, VA News, Sports and Weather

Planned Parenthood supporters rallied along Hydraulic Road in Albemarle County on Tuesday.

People at the rally held up various signs in support of Planned Parenthood, and the services it provides.

Supporters at the rally say the organization provides a range of vital, low-cost services for women in the Charlottesville community and beyond. Without those services, they say many would be at a loss.

"Planned Parenthood, of course, performs a lot of important functions in the life of our community. They perform exams and pap smears, and mammograms and a lot of preventative medical techniques that are very important aside from abortions. And that's been overlooked. They are really our primary care provider for women's health in our community," said Lira Fine.

These supporters say they're hopeful to gain more visibility and spread their message of a women's right to choose.
