An architect is explaining how he plans to bring new life to an old theatre in downtown Charlottesville.
Vinegar Hill is being taken over by Light House Studio. Wednesday, the architect spoke at City Hall.
Light House is a nonprofit that teaches children how to make films and hosts screenings.
Light House is remodeling Vinegar Hill so that it will have new neutral colors and a more polished look. The new space will also allow for another classroom.
"A really valuable social impact, in the way the building will be used, in the way they can serve the city, and as an architect it's really exciting to be able to do that. We like taking and putting together new and old dialogue between the different types of architecture in different spaces," says Fred Wolf, the architect for the renovation.
Part of the addition is a rooftop terrace the theatre can use for fundraisers and other events.
