Virginia junior pitcher Brandon Waddell officially came to terms with the Pittsburgh Pirates on Wednesday.
Waddell was a fifth-round selection by Pittsburgh in the Major League Baseball Draft, and agreed to a reported $315-thousand signing bonus.
The lefthander started a school-record 53 games in three seasons with the Cavaliers.
UVa won all five of his College World Series starts, including the NCAA National Championship-clinching victory against Vanderbilt last month.
Waddell is the fifth of seven Virginia draftees to sign, with only Nathan Kirby (Brewers) and Danny Pinero (Tigers) still remaining.
The deadline to come to terms is Friday.
