CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - One of Charlottesville's favorite kid-friendly spaces has a lot more money to put into its programs thanks to Panera Bread.

For months, the restaurant's Barracks Road location collected money in donation boxes to give to the Virginia Discovery Museum.

Thursday, Panera Bread presented a $1,500 check to museum directors. The money will go toward improving and adding children's programs at the museum.

"We are able to provide wonderful educational programming, fun and engaging exhibits to the children of our community and to encourage them and their families to come and play," said Lindsay Jones, volunteer coordinator at the Virginia Discovery Museum.

The Panera Bread exhibit at the museum will also get a face lift thanks to the funds.
