CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) -

Charlottesville's Building Goodness Foundation is wrapping up its annual holiday fundraiser Monday night.

The organization is hosting the last in a series of  "Shopping Mondays in December" on Charlottesville's Downtown Mall.  Rock Paper Scissors, Bizou, Ten Thousand Villages Charlottesville and Alakazam Toys are donating a portion of Monday's sales to the foundation.

Sarah Lawson of the Building Goodness Foundation says this year's fundraiser has brought in more money than ever before.“This is our most successful yet, actually. This is the most expansive and we've been able to work with a larger number of local businesses, which is great.”

Money from the fundraiser helps the foundation continue their work around central Virginia.

The Building Goodness Foundation says the shopping event also helps participating retailers. They've seen higher sales on the Monday's they sponsor the shopping day.
