'Hoos Get Ready to Face Rocco, Strauss and Richmond

Posted: Updated:
The UVa football team will face two former Wahoo quarterbacks in Michael Strauss and Michael Rocco when Virginia hosts Richmond on Saturday.

Strauss and Rocco both played one half in Richmond's 55-10 season-opening win over Morehead St. last week.

On Tuesday Strauss was named the CAA Player of the Week.   He threw for 259 yards and three touchdowns in the first half against Morehead St.  Rocco played the second half, throwing one touchdown and one interception.

They'll make their return to Scott Stadium in Charlottesville for Saturday's 3:30 kickoff against Virginia.

UVa running back Kevin Parks says, "Hopefully get some boos. Nah. I like both of them, so hopefully its all good things for those two. I'm definitely going to say a couple things to them cause that's just how I am. I'm going to joke with them. They're also good friends of mine. They'll definitely get a couple good jokes. Bad jokes. Matter of fact I talked to Rocco earlier today, and Strauss a little bit earlier too. A little bit of trash talk between the two. That's how its. That's how its always been. That's how we all joked around."

Also on Tuesday, Virginia's Henry Coley was named the ACC Linebacker of the Week.  The senior from Virginia Beach led the 'Hoos with 14 tackles, nine of them solo tackles.  Coley also had two sacks and forced a fumble.   It was part of a tremendous Virginia defensive effort holding UCLA's offense to just seven points.

Coley says, "Me and Hundley were like toying with each other a few times. Toying with the O-lineman also. His O-lineman also. Making calls. I'm echoing their calls and stuff you know. Walking up and just looking in his eyes. Me and him made eye contact a lot. I could just tell. He was getting flustered a little bit because he could never tell where I was coming from and stuff like that. But of course we were able to force turnovers and give our offense better field position and what not. To set up a score."
