UVA Faces $15M in Budget Cuts

Posted: Updated:

The University of Virginia is facing more than $15 million in budget cuts.

Last week, Governor Terry McAuliffe's office mandated that public colleges and universities cut costs by 5 percent this fiscal year, and 7 percent next year.

UVA spokesperson McGregor McCance told the Daily Progress it is evaluating options but has "no specifics to share" at this point.

The state faces an $881 million shortfall over two years.
