Kids From UVA Hospital Showed Off on Stage at Belk for a Good Cause
ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va (WVIR) -
?Children of all ages got to strut their stuff on a fashion runway in Albemarle County Saturday as a way to help other kids get healthy. An incubator from UVA Children's Hospital was placed at the end of the runway at the Belk department store in Fashion Square Mall.
Each 'model' deposited their donation at the end of their walk. All of the money collected will go to the Children's Miracle Network.
Belk Special Events Coordinator, Jackie Hensley said, "UVA Children's Hospital is in our own back yard, it's such a great place...it's good to get the word out in the community and let them know we have these wonderful children and families, this great facility and wonderful doctors, and help them out a little bit"
A large crowd gathered to support the children who modeled, which helped build the pile of cash higher and higher. A few 'miracle children' who had previously been in the hospital also took part in Saturday's fashion show.
