Shenandoah Valley Celebrates National Night Out

Posted: Updated:

People in the Shenandoah Valley got to meet the men and women who keep them safe Tuesday night as part of National Night Out.

The event was held the Waynesboro Target parking lot. The night was filled with various demonstrations by Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County services from rappelling to operating a police robot. It also included seeing the vehicles and tools up close.

“We want to kind of break down that wall so they can come up and meet us and really see what their law enforcement agency or what their emergency services do and who we are,” said Sgt. Brian Edwards with the Waynesboro Police Department.

Officers also took free fingerprints of children to give parents identification kits.
