Thursday was the first day high school football teams in Virginia were officially allowed to begin practice.

Albemarle was on the field in the afternoon, under the direction of new head coach Brandon Isaiah.

"I'm just glad to be out here," says Isaiah.  "I think every coach in the state is excited. Every year, I've been coaching for a while, I really do look forward to this day. It's football season."

Isaiah is a first-time head coach, who played at UVa, and has been an assistant at Charlottesville and Monticello.

Isaiah says, "It's a great opportunity for me to be the leader of a new program, so I'm trying to enjoy the moment. I'm excited to be out here with these kids, and looking forward to the progress we're going to make as a family."
