A crash involving a Virginia Department of Transportation paint truck shut down both westbound lanes of Interstate 64 in Albemarle County Monday morning.
VDOT workers were painting the road near mile marker 116 when a car struck the paint truck. The car itself ended under the paint truck, but the driver was able to get out safely. Crews had to cut a hole in the car to drain the yellow paint out of it.
Police say one worker suffered a leg injury and was taken to the University of Virginia Medical Center for treatment.
At this point, it's unclear if the driver will face charges.
