Three Augusta County women will take the stage Saturday in Staunton for the Miss Virginia Senior Pageant.
Set-up for the pageant got underway Friday at the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind.
Women age 60 and over from all across the state are arriving in town with their costumes. A lot is on the line, because the winner goes on to the national competition, but contestants say the best part is just having fun.
"Shopping and having people tell you this looks good on you and the men oh you wouldn't believe the men who say 'oh my look at that woman',” said Jerry Reed, Augusta County participant.
The pageant kicks off Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Healy Auditorium in Staunton. If you'd like to go, tickets are $10. You can buy them at the door.
