Starting this weekend, you can dine out on a discount and help feed families in our community at the same time.  Businesses are stocking their kitchens and setting the tables for the Charlottesville’s summer 2014 Restaurant Week.

With 35 participating restaurants on the list, there's something for every palette this year. The chefs have crafted special menus for customers to enjoy at a fixed cost.

Shadwells Restaurant on Richmond Road is serving up some of its popular items including lobster risotto bites, northern neck crab cakes, and peach cobbler for the occasion.

The different locations are offering dinner for one of three set prices - $16, $26, or $36.  One dollar of every meal benefits the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.

Pam Gower, Shadwells manager and marketing director, said, “It's especially exciting to us this summer because we're also celebrating our one-year anniversary.  Restaurant Week is just a wonderful opportunity for the community to get out and enjoy all the fabulous restaurants we have here in Charlottesville while supporting the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.”

Charlottesville’s winter Restaurant Week in January raised $16,000 for the food bank.  That's the largest amount raised to date.

Restaurant Week will run from Saturday, July 19 until Saturday, July 26.  Click here for a full list of menus.
