Work to create a smoother ride will cause some bumps in the road for traffic at one busy Charlottesville intersection.

City crews will remove the cobblestones at 14th Street and University Avenue at the University of Virginia corner. Once the wobbly stones are out, crews will repave that intersection.

The project will also give taller vehicles a few extra inches of space to get under the railroad bridge.

Work is expected to start at 7 p.m. Monday night and every night through Wednesday. Crews should clear out each morning by 7 a.m.
