Husband Charged with Former Augusta Resident's Death

A woman formerly of Augusta County was reportedly killed by her Marine Corps sergeant husband according to the Onslow County Sheriff's Office in southeastern North Carolina.

Christopher Michael Skaggs was arrested on an open count of murder and is being held without bond at the county jail.

The victim, 31-year-old Jordan Skaggs, was found dead at her home from multiple gunshot wounds. She was a mother of three and graduated from Fort Defiance High School in 2001.

Christopher Michael Skaggs was arrested and incarcerated in the Onslow County Jail on an open count of murder. Arrestee Skaggs is not allowed the privilege of a bond. Arrestee Skaggs is an active military Marine.

At approximately 9:45 AM, July 13, 2014, Onslow County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, Detectives, and CSI were dispatched to 501 Cherry Blossom Lane to investigate a female being shot. When Officers arrived they discovered a female, Jordan Skaggs, WF-31YO, Wife of Arrestee, dead caused by multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. According to the investigative reports of the shooting, the Arrestee went into a rage, got his handgun and began shooting the victim.

Christopher Skaggs was arrested, a gun has been confiscated for evidence, and this case is still under investigation.
