Dr. Eric W. Bond, Division Superintendent of Augusta County Schools, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ian Marshall as Principal of Buffalo Gap High School.
Dr. Marshall began his teaching career with Augusta County in 2001 at Buffalo Gap High School as an Advanced Placement U.S. History and U.S. and Virginia History teacher. He also spent several years teaching AP History, World History and World Geography at Wilson Memorial High School.
He serves as an Adjunct Professor at Eastern Mennonite University, American Intercontinental University and Shenandoah University. He has held the position of Assistant and Acting Principal at William Perry Elementary School and Kate Collins Middle School.
In 2011 he was chosen to return to Buffalo Gap High School to hold the position of Assistant Principal where his duties included SOL Testing Coordinator, Administrative Leader for School Improvement and Staff Development, and Supervisor for Instructional Personnel Evaluations.
He has capably served in this position until he was chosen to become Principal at Buffalo Gap High School. He is well respected in the school and community, and his experience will serve him well as Principal.
Dr. Marshall holds an undergraduate degree in both Political Science and History from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a Masters of Education in Vocational and Technical Education with a concentration in Curriculum and Instruction. He earned his Doctor of Education in Administration and Leadership with a concentration in Curricular Leadership and Supervision from Shenandoah University.
For all of these reasons, Dr. Marshall is Augusta County Schools’ choice for Principal of Buffalo Gap High School.
