Former Virginia pitcher Whit Mayberry inked a contract with the Detroit Tigers Tuesday.
The Tigers haven't officially mentioned the signing but the team's beat writer for the Oakland Press Matthew Mowery tweeted that the Tigers announced the signings of both Mayberry and his teammate Artie Lewicki.
Mayberry is the eighth and last Cavalier to agree to terms with his club after being taken in the 2014 MLB Draft.
In his senior year with the Cavs, Mayberry appeared in 30 games with one start.
He posted a 6-1 record with 1.60 ERA.
Over the rightys five year career he struck out 173 batters in 87 games to go along with a 2.95 ERA.
