Changes are coming to Culpeper Regional Hospital. Plans for the University of Virginia Health System to take on primary ownership are moving forward next week.
The new partnership began back in February, and at this point leaders are preparing for public feedback. If all goes as planned, UVA will become the full owner of the Culpeper hospital, which they say should mean enhanced service and care for patients.
In order for the plan to be completed it must be approved by Culpeper Health's Board of Directors, the UVA Medical Center Operating Board, the UVA Board of Visitors, and the Virginia Attorney General.
UVA already owns 49 percent of the Culpeper hospital.
The focus of a meeting next Monday will be on how the new partnership will fit the goals and needs of the patients at Culpeper, based on the 2014 community health needs assessment. The public is invited to come and give feedback at the meeting on Monday, July 14 at Germanna Community College. It starts at 8 a.m., with breakfast available right before at 7:30 a.m.
