Summer Series at Kluge-Rhue Offers Alternative Museum Experience
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) -
The Kluge-Rhue Museum is changing up the usual museum experience with a special summer series. "Night at the Museum" has three dates left this summer.
The museum opens up the lawn for live local bands and food trucks, and they sell beer from Devils Backbone Brewing Company. The museum even sets up a kid’s corner with special games and activities for the little ones.
"It’s surprising sometimes because you think everybody's gonna be outside enjoying the music and eating when in fact a lot of people come through the museum and see what we have to offer,” said Margo Smith, the museum's director.
The aboriginal art museum is the only one of its kind in the United States.
The dates left for this summer series are July 17, August 21, and September 18. Tickets are $5.
