New Coffee Shop Aims to be a Peaceful Haven for Christians
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) -
A new coffee shop is opening in Charlottesville Monday, but this one isn't trying to make a dime off your caffeine fix.
Diane Tanous is opening the not for profit “Well House" on 10th Street Northwest as what she hopes will become a peaceful haven for be Christians in the area.
Besides serving coffee and espresso drinks, the well house will have a room for prayer and will host gospel singing nights.
"I always want them to know they have a friend here and if they want, if they need prayer or if they need help or if they just want to come in and be with friends and listen to some live gospel music, it's just a place where they're always going to be welcome,” said Tanous.
Tanous says she plans to donate proceeds to charities that support youth in central Virginia.
