FLUVANNA COUNTY, Va (WVIR) -

Fluvanna County investigators have two mysteries on their hands. One is a missing woman. The other is the identity of a body found in a car that went up in flames.

The Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office held a news conference Friday afternoon in which they first explained the case of 49-year-old Janet Renee Field. She was last seen by her husband, who reported her missing July 2.

Her car was found by deputies in the park and ride at Zion Crossroads. The burgundy Subaru Forester has been impounded by the Sheriff's Office and a search warrant was conducted on the vehicle. Field is white and has blond hair and blue eyes. No description of what she was last seen wearing has been released.

Officials say for now they do not suspect foul play and are reaching out to the community for answers.

“If anybody has any knowledge at all and saw her at a shopping mall, Walmart or at a gas station or somebody at the park and ride and saw her get into any type of vehicle, that would be very beneficial,” said Lt. David Wells with the Fluvanna County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators have prepared search warrants for Field's phone and bank records.

Also during the news conference, investigators gave an update on the body found inside a burning car early Thursday morning off Rising Sun Road in Fluvanna. There is still no ID on the victim but officials have impounded the charred 1995 Lexus that was owned by the same owner of the home where it was found. They don't believe the body is related to the missing person case.

The Sheriff’s Office is being assisted by the Virginia State Police arson and bomb unit to more specifically identify the initial cause of the car fire.
