Staunton, Waynesboro, and Harrisonburg were all rained out in the Valley Baseball League Thursday night.The Generals were rained out for the second night in a row, and the game at Winchester will be made up Monday at six o'clock.Harrisonburg's double-header at home against Covington was also rained out, but no make-up date has been announced.Staunton was scheduled to take on Charles Town Thursday night.
The Braves were playing until after midnight the night before, after waiting out a two-hour rain delay against Winchester, and coming away with an 11-8 win.First pitch against Charles Town was scheduled for 7:30 Thursday night, but they pushed the start time back thirty minutes.The Braves made use of the time by signing autographs, and throwing around a football.The teams lined up for player introductions at about eight o'clock, and that's when the rain started falling hard.
There was another delay as the teams waited on the umpires, and the game was finally canceled about 8:15.No make-up date has been announced.There will be no games Friday, as they teams are off for the 4th of July holiday.
