Cville Salvation Army Seeks Volunteers to Help with Renovation
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) -
The Salvation Army gives back to the community as much as it can, but now it needs your help. The thrift store in Charlottesville is undergoing renovation next week and needs volunteers to pitch in.
The store will be closed July 4 through July 11 as they clean and revamp the interior and parking lot and do some landscaping. Volunteers are needed for many different tasks, from manual labor outside to hanging clothes inside.
"The biggest problem your core, most of your smaller-town stores have is not having enough, not being able to hire enough people to get the product out and all that, so that's where volunteers come in handy,” said Lynda Delaney, Salvation Army store consultant.
All of the proceeds from the Salvation Army store go to funding other Salvation Army services like the soup kitchen and emergency centers.
