SPCA Offering Free Adoption for Fourth of July

Posted: Updated:

The Charlottesville-Albemarle SPCA is hoping you'll think about freedom a little differently this Fourth of July.

The shelter will waive adoption fees for adult cats and dogs until July 13. It’s hoping to adopt out as many as possible, and already, about 10 have found new homes.

Cat adoptions normally start at $75, and dogs at $100. They have been spayed or neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and tested for heartworms.

These animals have personality profiles to help you know whether they would be good with other animals, small or large children, and the level of activity they probably need.

The main SPCA center is on Berkmar Drive in Charlottesville. It is open Monday through Saturday from noon to 6 p.m. and Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. but you can always check out their animals online before stopping by.
