Motorcyclists Ride For a Cause

Posted: Updated:

Men and women on motorcycles hit the road through central Virginia and the Shenandoah Valley Saturday afternoon.

Nearly 40 motorcycles roared up 29 North in Greene County to raise money to give children a merrier Christmas.

The group called “Motorcycle Ministries” hands out gifts about two weeks before Christmas. Last year they gave out presents to around 80 families.

President Dwayne Waters said, “It is awesome to see the way that the kids light up see a motorcycle pull up bearing gifts even the handicapped kids that wouldn't have anything it is an awesome feeling.”

The bikers drove 78 miles through Greene, Rockingham, Page, and Madison counties.

This will be the fourth year the ministry delivers gifts.

Brothers in Christ in Orange County sponsored the event.
