Students and parents converged on Charlottesville High School Friday to celebrate the Regional Governor's School Art Exhibit.
The showing marked an end to a two-week program in building, drawing, and painting.
Forty students, some who are enrolled in the public school system and some who are home-schooled, displayed hundreds of projects.
“There is both two-dimensional and three-dimensional art that relates to the notion of planting yourself in art, how things grow, and how art relates to plant materials,” said Judy McLeod, program director.
The students are from Charlottesville as well as Albemarle, Nelson, and Green counties.
The Virginia Department of Education sponsored the program. The competitive class picks up again next year.
