Capitol Police and Republicans are hearing criticism from Governor Terry McAuliffe for the way the budget was delivered to his office.
In dropping off the budget last Sunday, Capitol Police escorted House staffers to a secure part of the governor's office. McAuliffe sent a letter to the Capitol Police and other House leaders expressing his disapproval of their entering a part of the office where they had no permission to be.
Capitol Police say they put the document at the doorway outside the governor's office, and they do not see how that was deemed inappropriate.
