Woodrow Wilson Rehab Hosts Wboro Generals for Wiffleball Game

Posted: Updated:

The Waynesboro Generals Valley Baseball League team took to the diamond Wednesday afternoon to face some of their toughest competitors yet this season.

The Generals team of college ballplayers played a group of students with disabilities from Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center in Fishersville.

The center's students all face their own challenges - from autism to physical disabilities.

“So often they're excluded because they have a disability. Being a part and being accepted is so important,” said Amie Trinca, WWRC recreation supervisor.

That's why the center invited the rising college baseball stars to play wiffleball with their students Wednesday afternoon.

The Generals also got a chance to tour the center's classrooms and facilities to see how students improve their vocational skills.

Watch the video above to hear from some of the players and WWRC students during Wednesday’s game.
