CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) -

The NBA will host its entry draft this week, with former UVa stars Joe Harris and Akil Mitchell hoping to hear their names called at the Draft in Brooklyn.

Cavaliers head coach Tony Bennett was the 35th overall selection in the 1992 draft, and played three years with the Charlotte Hornets.

Bennett has turned the program around leading the Wahoos to the Sweet Sixteen this past season.

His name is often mentioned when coaching positions open up, both in college and in the NBA.

Bennett signed an extension with UVa earlier this month, which stretches his contract out to 2021.

The 45-year-old head coach has a record of 106-60 over the past five years in Charlottesville.

Bennett says, "There's always going to be, in this profession when things go well, there will always be opportunities around the corner. But I think knowing what you want, knowing what you can do is important and Virginia has everything for me so glad to be here."
