Charlottesville police were called to Fourth and Market streets Sunday morning after a fight broke out in Market Street Market.
The store owner and manager say a man they believe to be homeless attempted to take a bottle of wine without paying for it. The owner then stopped the man,
“He took the bottle of wine out and pretty much just tried to hit the owner over the head and then just went from there and got you know just a lot of fighting until the cops came,” said store manager Brooks Baumgardner.
The store manager and owner overpowered the man.
Police arrested the man on charges of attempted malicious wounding. No one is seriously injured.
