Posted: Updated:

Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mount Sidney is inviting everyone out for free dinner Wednesday night at an event called Feeding the Community.

The church and community businesses are partnering to provide hot dogs, chips, baked beans and cookies. Pastor Chris Carr says the need is great.

"The numbers at the food pantry of people who are coming through have remained pretty consistently high. But also to get that need of fellowship met for some people as well,” Carr said.

Feeding the Community starts at 5 p.m. and lasts until 7 p.m.

Two more meals are planned for September and December.
