Anna Phillips Anna Phillips

Anna Phillips joined the NBC29 News Team in June of 2014, after graduating cum laude from The University of North Carolina Wilmington where she double-majored in communication studies and English.

During college Anna interned at WWAY in Wilmington, North Carolina where she gained experience in all aspects of news. She particularly remembers getting to interview Police Chief Ralph Evangelous on local gang violence, and sitting in on town council meetings as solutions were searched for. Anna also worked for the UNC-Wilmington student-run media organization, TealTV as an anchor of their news program, Seahawk Central News.

While Anna loved her time at the beach, she is excited to call Charlottesville home. Originally from Morganton, North Carolina, Anna has a warm place in her heart for the Blue Ridge Mountains and is thrilled to be back. When not working, you can count on her being outdoors with her sweet dog, Toby.

Anna is always excited to hear from viewers, so whether you have a story idea, or just want to say hi, please feel free to email her aphillips@nbc29.com or connect with her on twitter @annaphillips29.
