People Experienced History at the Military History Exhibit in Waynesboro

WAYNESBORO, Va (WVIR) -

People in Waynesboro got a chance to take a walk through the valley's history Sunday.

The All American Honor Guard hosted a military history exhibit in Ridgeview Park.

The event included exhibits from nearly every American war, featuring weapons, food and clothes from each time period.

Organizers say it was a good chance for people to experience history.

“What we try to represent really was the way soldiers, sailors, Marines, service men and women lived, what they had to do, what they had to live through, more than war itself,” said Alan Alterman, the coordinator of the event.

People working the exhibits came from as far away as Pennsylvania.

This was the third year of the event, and organizers say they're planning to bring the exhibits back next year.
