WAHS and Riverheads Boys Soccer Teams Advance to State Finals

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) - The Western Albemarle and Riverheads boys soccer teams both won their VHSL state semifinal matches Friday, while the Madison County baseball team's season came to an end.

WAHS beat Culpeper County 6-0 to advance to the 3A state championship game Saturday at noon at Liberty University.

The Warriors will play Blacksburg in the finals.

Riverheads topped Martinsville 6-3 in the 2A semi's.

James Kasak scored all six goals for the Gladiators.

Riverheads will play George Mason in the finals Saturday at noon at Radford University.

Madison's playoff run came to an end with a 12-0 loss against Virginia High.

Austin Miles threw a no-hitter for the Bearcats.
