CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) - A little drizzle didn't stop the first free pool day at Charlottesville's Washington Park Sunday.

Kids came out to splash around for this summer's first "Sunday Sundown" pool party. It's an event put on by Charlottesville Parks and Recreation and Dave Matthews' "Bamaworks" foundation.

There's more than swimming, too. The party included food and a giant slide, all for free.

"It's just free swimming, free food, healthy food, I may add, for the whole family,” said Van Johnson an employee for Charlottesville’s Parks and Recreation.

If you missed Sunday’s event you have two more chances for a free day at the pool.

“Sunday Sundowns” are scheduled for July 13 and August 10.
