CULPEPER — Route 616 (Black Cat Road) in Albemarle County has reopened to traffic following the completion of repair work by the Buckingham Branch Railroad. The bridge was closed to traffic at 8 a.m.; the work was anticipated to be finished tomorrow afternoon.

Real-time road conditions and weather forecasts are available on VDOT’s traffic and travel website, www.511Virginia.org. The site also has live traffic camera images for many major highways, including Interstate 64, I-66 and Routes 29 and 250 in Central Virginia. Motorists can call 511 from any telephone in Virginia for road and traffic conditions on all major highways in the state. Call 1-800-367-7623 24 hours a day to report highway-related problems or request information about Virginia’s highways.

CULPEPER — Route 616 (Black Cat Road) in Albemarle County will be closed to through traffic on Wednesday and Thursday while the Buckingham Branch Railroad performs emergency repair work on the bridge.

The bridge will close to traffic at 8 a.m. Wednesday and will reopen by 5 p.m. Thursday. During the work access will be maintained to all private entrances on both sides of the bridge.
