Latest Statistics Show Lower Unemployment in VA

Jobless rates are down in central Virginia. In fact, unemployment is down across much of the state for April.

The latest U.S. Bureau of Labor statistics show the jobless rate stands at 3.7 percent in Charlottesville, 4.1 percent in Harrisonburg, and 5.2 percent in Lynchburg. That lines up with recent Virginia Employment Commission findings.

The statewide rate for April stood at 4.7 percent, which is below the national average.
