Free Polo Matches Bring Thousands to King Family Vineyards

Sunday’s picture perfect weather attracted thousands of spectators to an Albemarle County polo pitch.
King Family Vineyards hosted the match, pitting their team against the University of Virginia's polo team.
The free Sunday matches are part of a tradition that started six years ago.
University of Virginia polo coach Lou Lopez says it's a unique sport because of the dedication it requires.
"It is a unique kind of sport, you've have to be dedicated to it. You know you've got horses to care for on an annual basis, but we enjoy coming out and having a little fun on a Sunday afternoon and being able to put on a show for the spectators,” said Lopez.
The matches will continue every Sunday afternoon through the middle of October.
