Charlottesville Albemarle Kennel Club Dog Show Comes to an End

ALBEMARLE COUNTY, Va. (WVIR) - A 62-year-old tradition in Albemarle County has come to an end.  The Charlottesville Albemarle Kennel Club held its final dog show at
Foxfield Races Sunday.

The show is ending due to financial reasons.  The show's chairman, Sandra Lady, said that while the club puts on other shows throughout the year, this one will be sorely missed.

"It's a more expensive venue than an indoor show as a matter of fact, and we have been searching for several years for an indoor venue in Charlottesville and we have not been able to find one. So it's, we're not very happy about it frankly,” said Lady.

This year's show featured 650 dogs of 115 different breeds. A Siberian Husky by the name of "Rumor has it," owned by Mark Ramsey and Careen Pacht won best in show Sunday.
