Norfolk police are investigating a series of shootings that left a teenager, a police officer, and the suspected gunman dead.
Investigators say 29-year-old James Brown was shooting at cars along a Norfolk Street Friday night. Officers exchanged gunfire with him as he tried to drive off.
Brown and 35-year-old police officer Brian Jones were killed in the shootout.
Investigators say one of Brown's bullets struck and killed a 17-year-old who just happened to be sitting in his car nearby.
Officer Jones was a five year veteran of the department. He's survived by a wife and three children.
